Description of Work:

Ravi took photos at the synagogue the week before our son’s Bar Mitzvah (because photo’s during the actual ceremony are not allowed). He met with me once before. I saw photos from prior work he did. Saw examples from his work of different photo mediums on which he could print photos. He went through a list of possible photos we could take. Ours was the first Bar Mitzvah Ravi took pictures for. Clearly he had done his research before he met with me as to what is symbolic and what photos should be taken. I was very impressed. When we arrived at the synagogue with family in tow for photos, Ravi was already there and had already taken photos of the sanctuary and other elements therein. He was patient and took wonderful photos. I believe he took photos for over 2 hours. After it took me quite a while (about 2 months) to figure out what photos I would want in an album. I sent him numerous e-mail messages with questions. He answered them all, promptly. We ordered only 2 individual photos for a Great Aunt. Ravi printed 2 for the Aunt that I ordered and printed 2 others for us that he felt we should have. He made albums for both Grandmothers and a beautiful album for us that included some photos that we did not order, but that Ravi was wise enough to realize we would regret not having included 10 years from now. He delivered the albums and photos to us at our home.

Comments:

We are very pleased and impressed with Ravi: the high quality of his work; extremely reasonable pricing; and extraordinary availability to meet, answer questions, and deliver photos. We enthusaistically recommend Ravi to anyone that is looking for a photographer.

Description Of Work:

Took pictures at my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary dinner celebration and provided online web gallery, DVD movie from the images, a hardcover photo book, many prints, and a CD with all high resolution images.

Comments:

This was an outstanding experience and I can recommend Ravi/IvarPix wholeheartedly and without reservation. Ravi did homework in advance so that he knew the names of my family and could create a plan for taking a myriad of family portraits before the anniversary dinner began at a Schaumburg restaurant. The portraits were taken very smoothly despite involving many different combinations of 17 people. Ravi and his assistant were very unobtrusive during the dinner and captured many precious candid shots that captured people’s mannerisms and expressions in a way that cannot be done in a posed shot. The posed shots of the guest were also very high quality and I heard many compliments about Ravi’s professional and mild manner. The quality of the images were terrific, the hardcopy picture book was extremely well laid out (well cropped pictures and many examples of complementary images on pages that face one another) and of high production quality, and the DVD provided a very nice presentation. Ravi met all commitments and went above and beyond the contract in several respects: he stayed longer, unasked and without charge; retouched a photograph upon request; provided extra pages in the photo book; etc. It was very easy to conduct business by phone and email which is important because I live in Houston. Working with Ravi was a pleasure and the quality of his work preserved memories of this special event in a wonderful manner.

Description Of Work:

Took outdoor photos of my two boys and provided a variety of prints.

Comments:

I wanted some outdoor pictures of my two boys (ages 8 and 10), to do something different than the normal studio portraits. I had no idea where I wanted to take the pictures, so after calling Ravi he suggested a beach in Highland Park and Chicaog Botanic Gardens. Ravi said we could go to both place and also his indoor studio, but my sons had soccer games so my time was limited to an hour. We went to the beach front property and took some fabulous pictures of my kids with water in the background, sitting on rocks, near trees, etc. My boys are rather shy and it’s hard to get them to open up without seeming ‘stiff’, but Ravi put them at ease right away by asking them questions and joking around. He is very good with kids! At the end of the session, Ravi said he’d love to take more pictures in different setting another time (no charge), but our schedule was hectic the next few weeks, so I decided to wait. Ravi sent the photos to me online within a few days and I definitely didn’t need a second session as I had so much to pick from. In addition, Ravi showed me some options of different color schemes (black&white, sepia, ‘aged’, etc.). To be different, I went with the ‘aged’ color scheme and ordered normal color prints for my relatives. Ravi gave me some additional tips on the what color mats and frames would look good with the pictures. I got prints within a few days and they were gorgeous pictures. The quality was outstanding and the price was inexpensive. I was very pleased!
